Embercraft

A fleet’s mission begins before it leaves orbit

A fleet is more than a total number of ships. In Embercraft Space, you prepare an operation by choosing a target, a composition and a journey that fit your objective. Strength is only part of that decision.

Assemble ships with complementary roles

Interceptors, frigates and heavier ships have different characteristics. Transport ships provide cargo capacity, while recyclers collect materials from wreckage. Read ship details and their research requirements before committing resources. Building only the strongest unit currently available can leave you with a fleet that lacks the carrying capacity or suitable combat composition for the mission you actually want to send.

Gather information and simulate the battle

Espionage helps you gather information about a target, while hostile base details show their defending forces. Use the available information in the simulator to examine possible losses before sending your ships. Estimates depend on what you know: another commander’s position can change during your journey. Weigh the expected return against the forces that you would be putting at risk.

Plan the whole journey

Fleet composition, propulsion and distance affect travel. Dispatching ships requires deuterium, and missions carrying resources also need enough cargo space. Check departure, arrival and return times rather than considering only the moment of combat. Ships already traveling are not available to launch another operation from their planet, so review active missions before committing the rest of your forces.

Learn from each combat report

The report records the participating forces, losses and loot, helping you understand the result and change your next composition. Depending on the operation, wreckage may provide a further destination for your recyclers. Planetary defenses support stationed fleets, while alliances allow commanders to prepare joint operations. Check which forces are available and coordinate your plans before beginning the next engagement.

Frequently asked questions

Can I fight without attacking another player?

Yes. Hostile bases and abandoned stations offer battles against non-player forces. Examine their conditions and strength before committing your fleet.

Does the simulator guarantee victory?

No. It estimates a battle using the forces and information entered. It helps you prepare, but it does not guarantee the mission’s outcome.

Can planetary defenses replace a fleet?

No. Defenses protect the planet where they are installed. Ships also perform attacks, transport, colonization and recycling missions according to their roles.
