Colonizing a planet gives your empire a new foothold
Your space empire begins with one main planet. Colonies come later, adding installations to develop, reserves to manage and new distances to consider. Expansion works best when each new world has a place in your plans.

The Embassy organizes colonization and lets you prepare your colony ships. Check the requirements shown in the game and how many colonies your empire can support before planning another settlement. Keep enough resources to continue developing the main planet as well. Funding an expansion is easier when it does not leave your existing industry without the materials for its next project.
Choose a free position in the galaxy
The galaxy map distinguishes available positions from occupied planets and hostile bases. Note the destination coordinates and consider its distance from your other planets. A nearby colony supports shorter supply journeys, while a more distant one changes the area your empire can reach. Check availability and the mission requirements when sending your colony ship to the selected position.
Build a local economy on each world
A colony has its own buildings and resources. Its metal and crystal mines, refinery and three storage buildings therefore need separate attention. Completed research, by contrast, benefits all your planets. Use the overview to compare local needs and decide where to invest. Resources held on another world still need to be transported before they can fund construction on this one.
Connect your planets with cargo missions
Transport ships move resources between your planets. Before dispatching them, check the load, fuel requirement and expected arrival time. Plan deliveries around the construction you want to start at the destination. Planetary defenses and stationed fleets also belong in this plan: a new settlement needs attention and supplies, not simply a name on your list of worlds.
Frequently asked questions
Do I start with several colonies?
No. You establish your main planet first. You can then prepare colonization when the conditions displayed in the game are met.
Are resources shared automatically?
No. Each planet holds its own reserves. Transport missions carry resources to the planet that needs them for its next project.
Must I repeat research on every colony?
No. Completed research applies across your planets. Buildings and storage capacity still need to be developed locally on each world.
